I would recommend this bible to anyone that is a novice to the word of God. I’m used to the KJV, but I wanted to try something different. Reading the Message/NIV version is like reading wonderful and exciting stories that are easier to understand. I’m picking up information that I didn’t notice before. For example, did you know that Moses did NOT have his wife & two sons with him when he crossed the red sea [Exodus 18]? He had sent them to stay with his father-in-law Jethro. Jethro later brought them to the wilderness [which was only an 11 day journey]. It’s fabulous!!

If you’re wanting to spend more time in the word of God, you can’t go wrong with this version. Be blessed!!

I purchased this book for a lady in my Bible study who is very new to Bible study. What I liked upon viewing was the side-by-side translation on each page. I also think "The Message" will be easier for her to grasp as she begins to read the Word for the first time, but she still has the NIV for easy reference to what others in the group are using. I think I’ll get one for myself!

I bought this for my wife as a Mother’s day gift and she loves it. I’m a fan of Eugene Peterson’s "The Message" translation, and together with the good old NIV, this is an excellent Bible for devotions or study. The font size is perfect too. It’s easy to read without being overly or insultingly large. Recommended.
